In a slightly different slant on Canadian military history for this blog, the Department of Canadian Heritage has issued a series of posters "that highlight certain periods of Canadian history" under the title "Posters of Historical Flags of Canada". Obviously, the flag titled "Canadian Military Flags in the 20th Century" is most directly applicable to Canada's military heritage. However, there are also military examples in the "Flags of the French Regime (1534-1760)", "Flags of British North America and Canada after Confederation", "Historical Flags of Canada", and "Evolution of the Canadian Red Ensign". If the electronic version of the poster appeals to you, free copies of the actual posters can be requested from the Department of Canadian Heritage.
